What fun would a blog be if I didn't add stories that have nothing to do with class? So here are "journal" posts.
THAI MONEY (baht)
To give you an idea, one U.S. dollar is approximately the equivalent of 30 Thai baht. The other day, Reed asked me if I was going to buy myself more souvenirs (family, get ready for some awesome things I've purchased for you!). I told him that I probably wouldn't, the reason being that I am a total dork about foreign coins. Keeping a 1, 2, 5, and 10 baht coin is completely a souvenir in my mind.
Thai currency is gorgeous, and I fully intend on bringing home some coins for my collection!
The amount of water I’ve consumed daily on this trip is ridiculous. I was buying bottled water for about 7 baht at the local 7-Eleven, but last night I discovered that I could buy a 12 pack of water at Tops Market (in the mall) for only 66 baht (a little over $2). What a steal! Thankfully it’s so hot we sweat out most of the water we’re consuming otherwise we’d never make it anywhere with the number of bathroom breaks we’d have to take….Or maybe people are just hesitant to make bathroom breaks because then we’d have to use the “squatters” as we’ve been referring to them. It’s basically a hole in the ground. Yeah….not fun.

A random Thai guy asked me to marry him a few nights ago at The Warm Up Cafe. He said I look like Natalie Portman. Mom and Dad, it's a fun story, I'll tell you about it later.
Also, we had a great time seeing a cabaret show with ladyboys. I have videos. I was sitting next to Matt and Reed who both got a lot of special attention from the ladyboys. Reed got a huge kiss on the cheek (left a bright red, sparkly lip stain) and Matt had them practically diving into his lap! Maybe I'll have to post the videos to Facebook... Anyway, I'm impressed with how open-minded Thai people seem, both with accepting ladyboys and accepting drug addicts (more on that later).
TOMORROW WE'RE SEEING ELEPHANTS! If you couldn't tell by my use of all-caps, I'm extremely excited. There will be a blog post about it.
